Pros & Cons of TC2000 Software

Pros

  • Easy to learn & start using the software with little to no technical or charting knowledge
  • Versatile for advanced traders to use PCF coding to create their own scans, indicators, and watch-list filters
  • Can seamlessly use layouts & settings on mobile IOS and Android App

Cons

  • Doesn't offer cryptocurrency
  • Little slower on MAC. Its not 100% mac compatible. You have to get the parallels client or use the web version which are a tad slower and not as responsive!

Overview

As a retail trader, it can become quite overwhelming in deciding what trading software is necessary and just extra fluff. We compiled this comprehensive review to clear the air on what you truly get with TC2000. Being traders for over 20 years, we have tried every trading software on the block, and there is a definite reason why we have never left TC2000. They are affordable, an all-in-one software, and cater to both new and experienced technical traders. We have tried them all over the years. Tradingview, Thinkorswim, Stockfetcher, Stockcharts.com .

They all are usable but just lack that full scanning power tc2000 gives. One to keep an eye on 2024-2025 has been a big year for Trend Spyder

How I Use TC2000 Every Single Day (add after the Overview section)

I have been using TC2000 since the early days of my trading career and it is the only charting software I have never switched away from. Every single morning before the market opens, I have TC2000 up with my custom layout running my scans to find the best opportunities for the day.

Here is my actual daily workflow with TC2000:

The night before, I run my scans to build my watchlist for the next day. I am looking for stocks with earnings, news catalysts, or strong technical setups. TC2000 lets me flip through hundreds of charts in minutes using the spacebar — I can go through 1,000 charts in 20-30 minutes. That speed is something no other platform has matched for me.

In the morning starting at 9 AM, I have my pre-market scans running to catch any overnight gaps or news movers I may have missed. By 9:30 when the bell rings, I already know exactly what I am watching and where my levels are.

During the trading day, I am using TC2000 for everything — my VWAP setups, my first pullback entries, my opening range breaks. Every chart screenshot you see on our blog is pulled straight from TC2000. When I am screen sharing with students in our bootcamp, they are looking at my TC2000 layout. It is the backbone of everything we do at Bulls on Wall Street.

I set alerts on hundreds of stocks. You only have so much mental bandwidth to actively watch — I can realistically monitor about 12 stocks at a time. But in a hot market there are dozens that could trigger at any moment so I set trend line alerts, moving average alerts, and price level alerts. TC2000 handles all of that without slowing down even during the most volatile market conditions.

After the close, I review my trades and then start the process again — scanning for the next day. TC2000 is literally the first thing I open in the morning and the last thing I close at night.

Star Rating

Overall, we give TC2000 4.95 stars out 5 as it nearly meets all of our expectations and desires as traders at Bulls on Wall Street. The only fault we have with the program is the fact that they currently do not offer cryptocurrency, which would in turn make it a truly one-stop-shop software that is essential to every retail trader out there.

Key Features of TC2000

TC2000 Charting & Scanning

TC2000 charting is one of the cleanest charting software out there. From the technical indicators you can add, to the ability to design the charts to your own liking, you can truly personalize your technical analysis to make it individual to your own trading style. As you can see from the image below, its truly a trading station in itself, allowing you to create your own layouts to best fit the screen and device you are using. Our most common layout we use is the one below which features our daily chart, intraday chart, and our various scans, alerts, and watchlists on the bottom row creating a focused terminal that can be used on widescreen, vertical monitors, and even just your laptop. Over the years this layout has allowed us to be efficient in our trading by not having our eyes wander from screen to screen, and allowing us to maximize the screen real-estate we have on our trading computer.

tc000 charting

Here is the Main layout I use on tc2000 it has all my scans too!

TC2000 stock screener allows you to filter through particular stocks based on your filter criteria so you can eliminate the noise of thousands and condense it to a list you can actually use to trade with that fits your trading plan. TC2000 scans offer a variety of options, from your own PCF formulas under 'my conditions' to their handy 'pre-built' scan library of well over 100 different scans. They also have ones utilizing fundamentals and indicators, making your possibilities endless to say the least.

Watch-lists

The watch-list feature with TC2000 is quite powerful in that it isn't just a watch-list. You can also run conditional scans, filters, and quantitative results that can help you know whats going on with a stock, aside from the basic price, volume, and percent change that all watch-lists offer. Here you can get creative and add columns that fit your "trading rules" so you can easily filter and sort your watch-list based on what you are searching for within the tickers on your list.

Trading Simulator

TC2000 has one of the best trading simulators on the market. With their simulator, you can easily practice the execution and emotions of making trades without risking your hard-earned money in the market. All of our 60-Day Trading Boot Camp students are put on the simulator in month 2 of our boot camp, where they can simulate their trading while having the exact same layout they will have when they move over to live trading. This helps create a 'live atmosphere' that can make it as close to live trading as possible. To get access to our simulator layout, check out our Live 60-Day Trading Boot Camp here.

News Feed

The LiveBriefs MT Newswire is a handy feature if your brokerage doesn't already provide a newsfeed, or you just simply want the convenience of having the news right in the platform.

TC2000 Alerts

Alerts are handy for saving you time and ensuring you do not miss a move in the market. You can create alerts that cross above and below price, drawing tools (such as a trend lie or other chart drawing tools), at particular volume levels, and based on how price interacts with indicators. All TC2000 plans offer real-time tracking alerts, which can easily be turned on or off and set to expire at particular time periods. I set alerts on hundreds of stocks sometimes in a bull market. You only have so much mental bandwidth to watch stocks. I can at most watch 12 stocks. But in a hot market there are dozens that could trigger any moment so I set alerts! Lots of them! I use trend line alerts but also conditional alerts on moving averages, price levels etc.

TC2000 vs TradingView vs Thinkorswim

This is the most common question I get — how does TC2000 compare to the other popular platforms? Here is my honest take after using all three extensively over 20+ years.

TC2000 vs TradingView

TradingView has a great community and their browser-based charts look solid. But when it comes to scanning speed and layout customization, TC2000 wins hands down. TradingView scans are slower and the layout options are more limited. I have tried using TradingView as my primary platform multiple times over the years and I always come back to TC2000 within a week. The ability to create multiple custom layouts in TC2000 — one for day trading, one for swing trading, one for options — and flip between them instantly is something TradingView cannot touch. TradingView is fine as a secondary tool or if you are just getting started and want something free, but for serious active traders TC2000 is the better platform.

TC2000 vs Thinkorswim

Thinkorswim is powerful but it is bloated. The learning curve is steep and the interface feels cluttered compared to TC2000. I use Thinkorswim as a brokerage for execution but I never use it for charting or scanning. The scans in Thinkorswim are noticeably slower than TC2000 and the chart customization is not as clean. If you are already using Thinkorswim for your brokerage, keep it for that but add TC2000 for your charting and scanning. That is exactly what I do.

TC2000 vs StockCharts

StockCharts is a decent browser-based option for basic charting but it lacks the scanning power and real-time capabilities that active traders need. It is more suited for longer-term investors who want to look at weekly and monthly charts. For day trading and swing trading, TC2000 is in a completely different league.

Bottom line — I have tried every major charting platform over 20+ years. TC2000 is the only one I have never left. Try it yourself with our $40 discount here.

Who Should Use TC2000

TC2000 is not for everyone so let me be upfront about who it is best for and who might want to look elsewhere.

TC2000 is perfect for you if you are a day trader or swing trader who needs fast scanning, clean charts, and the ability to flip through hundreds of stocks quickly. If you trade momentum stocks with catalysts like earnings and news — which is exactly what we teach at Bulls on Wall Street — TC2000 is built for you.

TC2000 is also great for beginners because the interface is clean and intuitive. You do not need any technical background to start using it. Every student in our 60-Day Bootcamp gets set up on TC2000 in the first week and they are up and running within a day.

TC2000 may not be the best fit if you primarily trade cryptocurrency — they still do not offer crypto charting. If crypto is your main focus, TradingView would be a better option for that specific purpose. TC2000 is also not ideal if you need advanced options analytics like Greeks and probability curves — for that you would want a platform like Thinkorswim or a dedicated options platform.

Pricing & Subscriptions

TC2000 now offers three plans: Basic at $24.99/month, Premium at $49.99/month, and Premium+ at $99.99/month. Real-time U.S. stock data from Nasdaq Basic is included in all plans at no extra charge. If you haven't signed up yet, use the BOWS $40 discount here — Premium drops to under $10 for your first month.

Annual billing saves 17% (effectively two free months). Biennial billing saves 25%. Start monthly, then switch to annual once TC2000 is locked into your daily routine.

Personally Kunal uses Premium+ for the full feature set. The majority of BOWS students run on Premium — it covers everything needed for the day trading and swing trading strategies taught in the bootcamp.

TC2000 Basic:

If you are brand new to trading, and cannot afford to spend a ton of money on all the features, or you already have other vendors for scanning and watch-list monitoring, then Basic can suffice as it allows you to get into using TC2000's charting software at only 24.99 month. However, as soon as you see the value in the software, more than likely you will be making the jump to Premium sooner than you think. Basic is very bare bones. I think its fine if your just looking up stocks and not doing any day trading or live trading. If you just want to do some basic research at night then this is ok.

TC2000 Premium:

TC2000 Premium is the most popular plan among our traders here at Bulls on Wall Street. At $49.99/month, it replaces multiple software subscriptions and covers everything the BOWS trading system requires — real-time scanning, custom PCF conditions, chart drawing tools, multiple layouts, and up to 100 active alerts.

Premium largely overpowers Basic, with it consisting of its all-powerful easy scans that allow you to both use their pre-built scans, and tap into their PCF language to build nearly any type of scan you can think of running. It also unlocks all the chart drawing tools, multiple workspaces and layouts allowing you to have different layouts on other monitors, pre & post-market modes, and a few other items that truly makes TC2000 Premium the best bang for your buck.

We have seen many traders drop their expensive scanning software and immediately get the same results from utilizing TC2000's easy scans and PCF capabilities.

TC2000 Premium+

Premium+ covers everything in Premium and adds the tools I personally use that you cannot get at the lower tier. The extra monthly cost is negligible once trading is your full-time focus — I would rather have all the features available than hit a ceiling mid-session.

The specific things that make Premium+ worth it for me: the real-time Market-Pulse gauges, the Market-Pulse indicators, and the intraday performance columns. The gauges give you a live read on how many stocks in your watchlist are meeting your conditions right now — the needle moves in real time as the market shifts. The Market-Pulse indicators let you plot those breadth readings historically so you can build your own custom market-timing overlays directly in TC2000. The intraday performance columns show how stocks performed at specific earlier points in the session — useful for post-trade review and for spotting when momentum changed. These are gauges and tools you simply cannot build on the Premium plan.

Premium+ also includes up to 1,000 tracked alerts (vs 100 on Premium), historical condition testing, and a $300/year discount if you maintain a TC2000 Brokerage account with $30,000 or make at least one trade per month.

Most BOWS students will not need Premium+ out of the gate. Premium covers the full BOWS day trading system. But if you get to the point where you want to build your own market breadth reads and timing indicators, this is where that capability lives.

TC2000 Feed Subscriptions:

TC2000 also offers feed subscriptions that you can add to  plans.

If your broker doesn't already provide you with a newswire service, you can also look at TC2000 LiveBriefs by MT Newswires. The investor feed is all you truly need, but if you want to dive deep into the news side of trading, you can also opt-in for the 'Pro-Feed' at a higher price point.

Other than that, the only other feeds are alerts, which unless you already surpass the 100 simultaneous alerts with your base plan, you can upgrade, but we have never ran into that issue as too many alerts can also hurts your analysis and distract you. You can also look into their options and index data feeds, but if you just want to do your technical analysis on the indexes from a high level, you do not need these feeds either.

TC2000 Optional Data Feeds

Customer support

TC2000 has a very organized and helpful customer support that can ensure peace of mind when using their software. They offer a convenient live chat that operates between 9:00AM and 5:00PM EST during the week, and Saturday from 10:00AM to 2:00PM EST.

Desktop Software

TC2000 has a desktop client that you can download here if you use a PC or run parallels on MacBook. The desktop software is quick and easy to get set up, and only takes a few minutes of your time to get into your hands. The best part about it? You don't need a paid subscription to start playing around with it! This means if you have been on the fence about making the switch to TC2000, you can try it with no strings attached.

Easy Scans

Easy scans are definitely the most powerful feature included with TC2000 that allow you to both utilize TC2000's pre-built scans, and create your own personal scans utilizing their builder tools and PCF language if you want to get more technical. At Bulls on Wall Street we have over 10 active scans that we utilize to find our 18 different trading strategies we trade. It is imperative that you have an automated, and efficient running scan that cuts down the thousands of stocks in the market to the few that actually meet your trading plan criteria. If you want to purchase our scans, you can view our entire library of them here, or you can join Bulls on Wall Street chatroom or bootcamp and get them included for free with your membership!

Browser Platform

If you cannot run the software on your desktop because you cannot utilize parallels on your MacBook, you can also use TC2000's web browser version here.

Mac and Chromebook

If you currently are using an Apple computer, you have 2 options of using TC2000. You can either use Parallels and run the software with the PC client, or you can use TC2000's web version. Both get by and offer the exact same functionality that you can get when using the desktop version built for PC.

Interactive Brokers (clearing firm)

TC2000 utilizes Interactive Brokers as their clearing firm, and allow you to trade directly through TC2000 if you open an account through them. If you want to learn more about trading with TC2000 and IB, you can learn more here. They offer 4:1 margin on intraday trades, and 2:1 margin on overnight holds. The only downside with using them for a brokerage is that you pay a flat fee of $4.95 per trade, so if you are a small or active account, these fees can stack up quickly. They do a have a per share type of option where if your trading 100-200 shares at a time you can get lower fees.

Personally we don't use the brokerage it has awesome features but Kunal has always liked the ones he has had since he started so he just keeps using Etrade and Thinkorswim

FAQ

Is TC2000 worth it? Yes. At $49.99 per month for the Premium plan, it replaces multiple other software subscriptions. The scanning alone is worth the price — it saves me hours every week finding trade setups. I have been paying for TC2000 for nearly 20 years and have never considered canceling.

Is TC2000 good for beginners? Absolutely. The interface is cleaner and more intuitive than most other platforms. Our bootcamp students who have never used charting software before are comfortable with TC2000 within their first week. Start with the Premium plan — Basic is too limited for active trading.

Is TC2000 better than TradingView? For active day traders and swing traders, yes. TC2000 has faster scanning, better layout customization, and more powerful watchlist features. TradingView is better for casual investors or if you need crypto charting. I break this down in detail in the comparison section above.

Does TC2000 work on Mac?TC2000 has a web version that works on Mac. The desktop client is PC-only but you can run it on Mac using Parallels. The web version is slightly slower than the desktop client but it has all the same functionality. Most of our Mac-using students use the web version and it works fine.

Can I trade directly through TC2000? Yes. TC2000 uses Interactive Brokers as their clearing firm so you can place trades directly from your charts. However I personally use separate brokerages for execution — Etrade and Thinkorswim — and use TC2000 strictly for charting and scanning. That is a personal preference.

Does TC2000 have a free version? Yes. You can download and run TC2000 at no cost with delayed data and a basic layout. The free tier includes U.S. stocks and options, charts, indicators, an options chain, a basic watchlist, and unlimited paper trading — no credit card required. New accounts and long-inactive accounts can access this without signing up for a paid plan. What you cannot do on the free tier is access real-time data or the EasyScan scanning tools. For active traders those two things are non-negotiable — real-time data and scanning are the engine of everything we do at BOWS. The paid entry point is Basic at $24.99/month with real-time data included.

What is the best TC2000 plan? Premium. It is the sweet spot for 90% of traders. You get the full scanning capabilities, multiple layouts, all chart drawing tools, and pre/post market modes. Premium+ is nice to have but Premium covers everything most traders need. Get $40 off your first month here.

How do I set up TC2000 for day trading? Download the platform, select the Premium plan with real-time US stock data, then import our Bulls on Wall Street layout which includes our custom scans and chart setup. Every bootcamp student gets access to our exact TC2000 layout so your charts match ours from day one.

Can I use TC2000 for candlestick pattern analysis? Yes. TC2000 has full candlestick charting with every timeframe you need. I use 5-minute charts for day trading and daily charts for swing trading analysis. The charting is clean and fast which makes reading candlestick patterns easy.

What scanners do you use on TC2000? We have over 10 custom scans that we use to find setups for our 18 different trading strategies. These scans are included free for all bootcamp and chatroom members. If you want to see exactly how we scan for the most explosive stocks to day trade, check out that guide.

Bottom Line

All in all, we think TC2000 is essential to any retail trader's success. Compared to its competitors, it has more features built into its software making it a truly all-in-one program for any trader. Whether you are trying to keep your software costs low (under $50/month), or you want to get crazy into mastering PCF and creating your own scans and indicators, all is possible with TC2000.
