Keep an eye intraday for continuation or reversal. I am created an "extended list" for stocks that could be potential quick short plays if the market turns. Notice that many of these extended stocks are on the long list as well. If they do not put in reversals and just consolidate, they continue as long setups. The point here is to be adaptive. The creation of the extended list does not mean you should blindly short just because they are extremely extended.
