The optimist would say the indexes are defending the 2022 low range in the face of bad news and earnings have been okay. Not great, but not bad either. The pessimist would say the overall market topping formation is looking stronger and news is confirming the top. Plus, while earnings have been okay, price action is not following through on the stocks that have had good earnings. These two viewpoints seem equally valid, which means we don't have a huge edge and should remain cautious until we get strong signals. I am building lists of stocks that are building strong bases for potential longs, and stocks that look like they might be topping for shorts.
