From a purely technical standpoint, the recent index bounces are not just pulling back, but failing at key levels. Stocks are red across the board, but the industries putting in rubber band bounces (like growth, software, IPO, tech, electric) are getting hit the hardest. The pullbacks in RS areas like airlines and metals still look healthy. Energy is the only strong area today. VIX is popping but not yet year recent highs, indicating more room for a pop which means a drop in the market. The one caveat for this market is earnings continue to show strength. Dead cat bounces are all over the place and there are plenty of good short setups in the "dead cat" industries we mentioned. Today's short plays are RKLB and SHOP.
