I stuck to the plan and added SPXL toward the end of the day as it turned green. Now we look for continuation above the 9ema. Premarket the indexes are set to open above the 9ema, which is a positive sign. Key today is holding this level.If we see failure a this level I could add a short in another index play even if I have not hit my stop in SPXL. The idea of his balanced "pair trade" is to profit from one big win while the other trade is a small loss, without having to pick the correct direction. Note that I will only do this if there is a strong failure of the 9ema.Oil is bouncing this morning and BRIC countries are strong. FAANG stocks are nearing their 9emas.Patience is key right now. I am content to be in cash unless we get strong signals.Trading vehicles include ETFs and big tech stocks.India and Brazil are still showing relative strength. Financials and oil are very oversold.We are sitting on a 33% gain in 2018 which is obviously crushing the market's -6% loss, giving us an alpha of 39%.
