what do you do after market hours?
|
|
| Quoting stockgod | | haha.. I have a GTR, fun car - probably best I've driven if you can get over the fact that it's a Nissan! Ford GT is also a great car. 911 turbo, 993 GT3, E63, etc. I'm just about to put a deposit on a 458, I cancelled one on the California when the economy tanked because I would have felt guilty driving it... I've been a car nut forever.
|
Haha dude thats the best post ive ever read... SICK CARS!! 458 looks AWESOME..especially cause you really dont see em that much...more F430s and stuff around here. but yea me too, i dont know why, just enjoy driving different cars. GTR is the fastest you have had?

what do you do after market hours?
|
|
| Quoting stockgod | | So besides reading about the market, and dreaming about the open... What do you do that's not market related? I know many of us are obsessed, but it's important to get away from the computers once in awhile and do something different.
I ride road bikes, mostly pedal, although I do have a motorcycle. I'm a car freak, so I've had pretty much every car a little boy dreams about throughout my driving history. I collect cigars and smoke them infrequently (maybe one every 6 months?). I also collect and enjoy wine from around the world, although I prefer French and Italian.. I have a fetish for watches for some reason. If I see a watch store I usually spend an hour or so browsing and debating...
I love the water, and I spend the summer out on a lake, love wake board, wake surfing, etc.
I'm also a big fan of music, I listen to all kinds of music. @lukerockstar and I discuss music quite often.
|
What are some cars you have gone through SG? car fan myself... currently have a 98 acura NSX....upgrading to nissan GTR very soon!! As for me, I love sports. Watching, playing..you name it. Always down to have a sports convo with anyone, anytime , anywhere. I have played basketball for 12 + years, I played again a few guys that played d1 ball at big schools like duke and florida state. I played alot of football at WR, Im a 10 handicap in golf, and I play tennis, baseball, and more! Also work out every day, and love traveling.

| Quoting Gz9 | OK, we're a husband and wife team. Tom and Robin W. Married on the Winter Solstice, Dec. 21, 2005. I (Tom) have been trading on my own since Morgan Stanley lost a significant part of my portfolio when the tech bubble bust. I've been a semi-successful long term trader since then (which means I had gains a little over 10% a year). I've been a Pharmacist for 35 years. During the 80's and early 90's I had a software and consulting business that was a lot more fun then counting pills every day. I'm still involved with Open Source software and Linux and can be found sharing my knowledge in selected Linux Forums daily.
It was during my daily surfing and use of sites like identi.ca and twitter that I found the stock social sites. I won't mention competing sites, but, it was on one of them where I first saw the tweets of stockgod, kunal and urban ryno. I followed (twitter-wise) stockgod and at one point a tweet pointed me to an upcoming BullOnWallStreet site. When the site launched I became intrigued. I opened my mostly dormant Ameritrade account and started investigating the stocks I saw tweeted, eventually following the stream, and profiting from the interaction.
Robin, on the other hand, is new to stock trading. She won awards in culinary school, and before last October, we had planned to open a restaurant. The banks were impressed enough with her business plan to finance the part of project back then, but, it's insane to open a business like that during a recession. The stock market is less risky than opening a restaurant on Eastern Long Island.
Somehow we wound up spending most of our time in the computer room together, she watched what I was doing with stocks, got interested, and started reading the lessons of copperstl. When I was at work in the Pharmacy, she would be in front of the computers trading stocks. While we haven't totally got the hang of it yet, we are learning (she faster than me). We do intend on learning enough to make it an income producing venture. This we are determined to do.
This is the other half of GZ9, Robin. It must seem to others that Gz9 has multiple personality disorder. I was a nurse, after getting married I was able to go back to college to pursue an old passion, culinary arts. I had my house to sell and had hoped to make a greater profit than we did with the sale in July and open a business. Having a hunk of cash and time, Tom encouraged me to learn how to trade by following the BOWS experts.
My first solo trade was 9/1, I followedKunal00 into $ACAD, bought 400 shares at 1.91 and sold them at 2.06. I made a wopping $60 that day and I loved the feeling. It was a week or so later that I found out that Long did not mean to hold a stock a 'long' time and Short was to only hold a 'short' while. I have not yet to take the plunge into options or shorts but I am getting my nerve up. I now buy stocks in the thousands, scaling up and down. I have learned so much from the BOWS community. I don't know if other traders dream of stocks, but I do. I am trying to gather all the information I can on trading and implement it. This trading obsession may have crossed over into some sort of trading addiction. I need a little green fix every day. I find myself waking at odd hours and checking the news and tweets and I love it all!

First day trading with BOWS team
|
|
|
Hi all, just wanted to make a quick post after day 1 for the people that are considering joining. I have been following SG and the Bows team for months now...and I have made a killing on the stocks they have picked. From the moment I read about the "boom factory" (live chat room) I knew it would be a great idea. Today was our first day using this and it was 100% successful. From the moment the market opened, you are able to ask any questions you need too about stocks. There was about 10 people there today all very nice and helpful. Today we daytraded PRGN FBP NEP (scalps / quick trades) LIWA from 8.50 to 8.80 + (Quick swing) and a few more I made over $750 only using a few thousand today(5-7). I did not buy in more then 2000 shares of anything (besides NEP). Just to test the waters. Its not that I didn't trust the Bows team. Its just that I have never really done swing trades so I wanted to be cautious just in case. . Still made 1 or 2 mistakes on my part but I can easily fix that. I don't want you to take my word for this. I dont want to seem like im pumping this site up so the site can make $. I want you to follow SG /kunal/copper on their twitter and see what their picking and follow the stocks. See how much you make THEN come back here and make a decision for yourself Paid $300 for the first 3 months fee. Made all that back + more and I learned most importantly. I understand people can't just drop $300 and take someones word on the internet. That is why you need to follow their twitter and draw your own conclusions.. Nothing but great people here.
Thanks for everything today BOWS!

What are your weaknesses?
|
|
|
Everyone has them...EVERYONE! List your trading weaknesses and explain why you think you have them. This way we can help one another get over these weaknesses and flip them into strengths, thus becoming a better trader. Ill start! My mindset has always been postive. ALWAYS! This is probably why I have been successful so far in life. I understand there are people smarter then me and I am willing to learn from them. I do not try to do everything myself.. and never will. I do not think negative thoughts...when a stock goes down..it doesn't matter how far it goes(unless its a scalp) I don't really get nervous or get the jittery feeling of wanting to sell....(as long as its somewhat a bullish market)
On the other hand, when I am in the green... I can't hold myself back. I keep getting "what if I miss out and it goes down" or "why be greedy, just take the profit" thoughts. Don't get me wrong, any good trader will tell you there is nothing wrong with taking profit... but I am missing out on several runs.
Examples.. for instance on NEP a few weeks back. Had myself 3k shares @ 4.40ish....After following the bows members, rynos charts, etc etc..it was just POISED for explosion...and what did it do? EXPLODE! Started going up up and bam! hit $5. I was watching the stock and thought I saw some weakness and big asks so I took my profit and got out. Little did I know it kept going higher.... Thought to myself..no worries, cant pick the top of the stock. The next day it kept going higher. I thought I was going to miss more so I got back in @ 5.30ish... few days later sold out @ 5.50ish!! Couldn't of been happier. Thought this was the easiest thing in the world...making an easy 4-5k profit. Well it kept going higher the next day and I said...what the heck why not? bought back in @ 5.40ish again after a little pullaback and it started. The ecomony started tanking, people got nervous...nep did a complete retracement.. I didnt want the money tied up so I sold out @ like 4.90ish (took a loss on more then 1/2 of my profit) Instead of 5kish profit, I ended with like 1.5k profit(not bad at all)... but what could of been? why did I chase it up? I didnt want to miss out. I didnt know how the play the stock and I kept seeing green profit so I took it.
I could of just held nep .. sold it one time, and never looked back. But I wanted more and didnt know how to play the stock correctly.
Matter of fact, if I held Nep from where I had it a month ago... I would be up MORE (after buying in more @ 4.50 when it dropped), then after all the headaches of trading back and forth, taking a huge loss, and be perfectly happy. Hoping to learn from these mistakes.
Currently holding a ton of NEP from the 4.60ish range... Im hoping if the earnings are positive... I play this correctly and not make the same mistake x2
I have also got to quit trying to play every good stock I see posted about. But thats another day, another time :)

I was wondering if you guys could go into a little more depth about the boomfactory "trading floor."
|
Reply: So there's a couple of parts to this question... First, the Boom Factory is a chatroom - live/instant. You will be in the same room as the traders like Kunal00, Copperstl, me, Urban_ryno, and anyone else who is on the premium. It's faster than Twitter, and the people in the chatroom will get the plays first.
Then there is the premium stream -- it's totally seperate from Twitter, and works just like Twitter. A premium message will appear on your stream in red displaying the type of trade, and you'll also get an email alert as well.
We're not eliminating the free stuff, but the people who are in the chatroom and on premium will get the setups quicker. It doesn't mean we won't tweet out our picks publicly, we will of course -- but we just want to make sure we do it in order. Sometimes it's very difficult to tweet out every play each time we make a buy/sell, but with the BoomFactory it'll be much easier.
Ryno will be posting Premium videos up later to explain how it works.
|
Reply: Very nice! Will it refresh automatically? Are you always going to be posting in there on all trades as well? Can't wait to see the future on this site man...looks amazing.

Question about the Gold Premium Membership

I was wondering if you guys could go into a little more depth about the boomfactory "trading floor." I know many people(myself included) try to follow kunal , sg , copper and ryno on twitter but miss some tweets here and there for scalp plays, etc. How will this trading floor work? Will you guys be updating it often and posting your trades your in and others with the gold premium can all go in and talk to each other? For instance...everyone here knows SG loves his apple scalps, or kunal doing one of his midday swings...will there be any kind of alert when you enter this so its easier to follow ? if we choose of course Thanks in advance!!

Hey Everyone! My name is Jim. I have been trading for a little under a year now. Im 23 years old and learning the ropes on the stock market. Job wise - I started up 2-3 websites where I sell online video game accounts. I thought nothing of it a few years ago and before I knew it , it turned into a real job. We are now one of the top 10 websites that sell virtual goods. I basically have been following the BOWS team since I made an E-trade account and kept up with the stock market.
I enjoy lifting weights, sports cars, and trading stocks. I also love helping people out and seeing others succeed in life. I thank god for what he has blessed me with.
Very excited about this website. Thanks again BOWS team for all you have done.
